A Major Take-Away From IRCE Chicago 2014 – Mobile Commerce Matters

The IRCE (Internet Retailer Conference and Exhibition) 10th annual event, held in Chicago is the biggest of its kind. Hosting hundreds of presenters who showcased all aspects of online retail, Ecommerce and merchant solutions, IRCE 2014 has provided the visitors with a glance of state of the art products in just about every field in the industry.  There were a number of threads and themes during the convention, especially the whirlwinds of change that mobile commerce has brought into play.

The best example for this can be found in the presentation which kicked off the event, by keynote speaker John Donahoe, CEO of eBay, on the future of Ecommerce. Donahoe’s coined “Commerce Revolution” strongly shows integration of mobile devices and multiscreen shopping. Adding social links to your 3dcart store is a great way to drive traffic to your social media pages as well provide visitors a one-click content sharing opportunity.

The Big Reveal: eBay Module and 6.3 Version Release

Today, we officially announce the release of 3dcart’s 6.3 version with new features and upgrades for our merchants who wish to integrate his or her store with eBay and specifically the integration of UK’s Royal Mail and Parcel Force. This is the 3rd version release for 2014. The 2 previous releases included, HTML5 Responsive Themes in beta, Amazon Product Ads automated feed, payments with Checkout By Amazon for US, UK and DE merchants, and multiple SEO built-in features like the rel=”next” and rel=”prev” for Category Pages, Custom URLs, Canonical Pagination Control among other things.

The eBay module is available for free to all 3dcart merchants on the Professional + or higher plans, and it will be found in your store modules page.  The new plugin allows 3dcart merchants (who are also on eBay) to list their items from the 3dcart store onto their eBay account. From there, the items can be auctioned or set for buy it now options. The Royal Mail & Parcel Force Integration allows our UK merchants more flexibility than ever.  UK Merchants now have access to real-time shipping calculations for all areas serviced by Royal Mail and Parcel Force.
