Happy

Our video equipment experienced a few technical issues today (I actually kicked the tripod on accident and broke the camera), and that unfortunately forced us to delay the next installment of our bi-weekly video series, The eCommerce Corner.

We apologize to those of you who were looking forward to viewing this week’s tutorial, but we promise to get things fixed ASAP and plan to structure the next video around 3dcart’s amazing Daily Deals Feature.

OK -- Now that we’ve gotten that little bit of housekeeping out of the way, let’s move on to what you all came here for, which is to learn how to make more money as a 3dcart store owner.

If you spent a few days typing through the trenches of Internet, you’d unmask numerous theories on how best to drive repeat business to your eCommerce website. Take it from me, there’s a dizzying world of information available at your fingertips, but if you’re like most online store owners, you don’t have the time or resources to spend analyzing article after article only to find yourself swallowed in a sea of confusion.

Let me do you all a favor. Don’t waste time on search engines looking for the best way to build an army of repeat customers. If you want to make your shoppers happy, if you want to earn their future business, the only thing you need to do is care. That’s right… care.

Caring for your customers goes beyond the traditional avenues of service. It goes beyond the occasional social response and automated email. To truly care about your customers, you must truly care about your customers.

One of the best ways to let your people know you care is by including a thank you letter containing a special promotional code inside every package you ship to first-time shoppers.  It doesn’t have to be anything over the top, but the letter’s content needs to personal, humanized and altogether genuine.

The promotional code I just referenced doesn’t have to be anything crazy, either. All you need to do is offer, let’s say, a one-time discount of 10% to your customers.

The thank you letter will let your shoppers know that you both value and appreciate their business. The promotional code will entice them to return to your store, and the combination of the two will drive home the fact that you do, indeed, care.

The devil is in the details, folks. If you want to thrive in this competitive market, you need to go above an beyond. And a simple thing like a thank you letter inside every box you ship will go a long way to helping you succeed both now and in the future.

Example letter:

{Company Logo -- High Resolution}

Dear {Name},

On behalf of the entire {store name} team, we'd like to say thank you for choosing to shop with us. Your patronage is something we both value and appreciate, and we'd be honored if you were to come and visit us again.

In the meantime, we’d like to offer you an exclusive 10% discount on your next order. Just use the code YOUREAWESOME the next time you checkout, and the discount will automatically be applied.

Again, thank you so very much for shopping at our online boutique, and be sure to follow us on social media to stay up to date on all the latest products, news and special promotions we offer.

Take care, and we hope to see you again soon.

Sincerely
